Dr. Tony Alleyne, the Founder and Executive Director of the Delaware College Scholars Program, was honored with the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE) Recent Alumni Award. Dr. Alleyne accepted the award on May 12, 2018, where he participated in the University’s alumni weekend Celebration of Educators.
Nominees were evaluated on their significant contributions in their field, professional achievement or community service, and the devotion of significant time, energy, and enthusiasm for volunteerism.
Marsha Comegno, president of Penn GSE’s alumni association remarked, “Every year, Penn GSE’s Education Alumni Association receives nominations that highlight the impact our graduates are having across the country and around the world throughout the field of education. The Penn GSE Recent Alumni/Early Career Award of Merit recognizes alumni who graduated and hit the ground running, setting an inspirational example for future alumni through their accomplishments. Tony's work with Delaware College Scholars represents an outstanding story in our alumni community and impacts the lives of the many students and families his program supports. We were honored to recognize Tony during the Celebration of Educators and look forward to seeing all that he can accomplish in the years ahead.”
