MACKENZIE STELYN, DEDICATED TO RESTORING THE EASTERN SHORE.

MEET MACKENZIE!

Last week, we had the opportunity to visit Cohort 6 Scholar and current Washington College rising junior Mackenzie Stelyn in Chestertown, Maryland. Mackenzie, who is an intern for ShoreRivers this summer, has been working extremely hard with her colleagues to protect and restore the Eastern Shore waterways.

She has been out in the field, ensuring that the rivers are free of bacteria pollution and toxic algae blooms and are easily accessible through public beaches, boat ramps, kayak launches, piers, and other access points. Moreover, Mackenzie and her team have been educating folks across the Eastern Shore, teaching them about their river networks and helping young people develop a care for the rivers and see how their own lives are enriched by this connection with nature itself.

Keep up the great work, Mackenzie!
