Delaware College Scholars is all about the scholars. From rising juniors in high school to impressive college students, stories of opportunity, rigor, perseverance and success abound. They come from all over the state, representing all 19 districts and over 30 high schools. And we are proud to share in every one of their triumphs.

When she’s not in the classroom, Jessica performs in the University of Delaware Marching Band where she plays the flute. We sat down with Jessica to talk about her experience in the marching band and how she balances her time with a hectic schedule.

Nywel Cheaye

Cohort 3 graduate Nywel Cheaye is currently a sophomore at Vassar College where she majors in Science, Technology & Society (STS). Nywel is extremely active on campus as a Student Fellow for Residential Life, the secretary of the African Student Union, a member of the Vassar College Medical Services team and serves on the leadership team for Vassar Christian Fellowship. We sat down with Nywel and talked about her role as a student advisor.

Aysia Beatty

Aysia joined Delaware College Scholars in 2014 as a member of Cohort One, the first group of students to participate in the DCS program. Since that initial summer six years ago, Aysia has continued to do incredible things and is currently a rising senior at St. Joseph’s University (SJU) in Philadelphia. We sat down with Aysia and talked about a variety of topics that can help our current scholars as they begin their own college process.
